How much wool fibre do you need for needle-felted fibre paintings?

If you’re new to needle-felted fibre painting, you might be wondering just how much wool fibre you actually need. When fibre is usually sold by weight, it can be difficult to picture what 100 grams looks like – or how far it will go.

In this video, I show you exactly what 100 grams of wool fibre looks like and talk about how much you’re likely to use in a small to medium-sized fibre painting.

I also share why I use Ashford Corriedale wool fibre for most of my work, along with some suggestions for the colours you actually need when you’re getting started. Because, tempting as that wall of beautiful fibre colours might be, you really don’t need to buy them all!

If you’re building your first fibre stash or simply wondering how much wool you should be buying, have a watch.
