12,000 needle-felters, 95 countries, one wonderful community!​​​

When I launched our Facebook group, Needle-felting: Learn, share and grow, I had a simple vision: to create a welcoming, generous and inspiring community where needle-felters from around the world could come together to learn from one another, share their knowledge and creativity, and grow in their craft.​ What I didn't anticipate was just how quickly that community would grow!

​

We now have more than 12,000 members from 95 countries around the world! But as wonderful as those numbers are, it's not the size of the group that makes me most proud. It's the community that we're building together.

​

Every day, I see members generously sharing their knowledge, answering questions, encouraging beginners, celebrating each other's achievements and having some really interesting conversations about all things needle-felting.​ There's a genuine willingness to help one another, and that's exactly what I hoped this group would become.

​

More than a place to share our creations​

Of course, we love seeing everyone's beautiful needle-felted creations! But the group is about much more than showcasing finished work.

​

It's a place where members can ask questions, share their successes (and their mistakes!), explore new techniques, discuss tools and materials, discover useful resources and learn from the experiences of others.

​

We've also been developing a growing library of guides, resources and directories to help members find information, suppliers, tutorials and fellow felters around the world.

​

And importantly, it's a community where members are welcome to share their own handmade creations, patterns, books, workshops, courses and other needle-felting resources. I believe there's room for us to support one another creatively and commercially, provided we do so respectfully and in the spirit of the group.

Whether you're just beginning your needle-felting journey or have been felting for years, there's a place for you in our community.

You don't need to be an expert. You don't even need to have made your first piece yet! All you need is an interest in needle-felting and a willingness to learn, share and encourage others.
