My work in the December Felt Matters issue

It’s a lovely feeling to see my work and writing included in the December issue of Felt Matters (the magazine of the International Feltmakers Association), especially in an edition themed ‘Edges & Borders’. My art practice naturally leans into that territory – the meeting point between painting and fibre, and the use of strong, intentional sections to shape a composition.

In the article, I share how this way of working grew over time: how I break subjects into compositional planes, how edges become defining elements rather than something to blend away, and how working with fibre finally brought together all the creativity that I had been exploring over the years.

What I appreciated most about this opportunity was being able to share my approach in the hope it inspires others to explore two-dimensional needle-felted fibre art for themselves and to develop their own way of working within the medium.

Here are a few photos of the article if you’d like a peek.
