Bev Moon: Elevating fibre art

Sarah Ritchie, Sara Langdon and Bev Moon

I had the pleasure of meeting Bev Moon (right) at the Aotearoa Art Fair this past weekend (we are pictured here with my Art of Us compadre, Sara Langdon, Instagram: @saralangdonart).

The work on display was Bev’s knitted yum cha banquet, ‘Fortune’, honouring her mother and grandmother, both accomplished cooks and knitters.

I was thrilled to see fibre art represented so gloriously in this prestigious art fair (featuring represented works from top art galleries from all over New Zealand). The more that fibre can be seen in a ‘serious’, artistic setting like that, the better for all of us!
