Evelyn Dunstan and her peacocks – I’m feeling inspired!

The front and back of Evelyn Dunstan's peacocks.

A peacock has to be one of the most stunning of God’s creatures. I hadn’t seen one since visiting the UK in the mid-2000s, so it was a real treat to encounter several when we visited the home and studio of glass artist Evelyn Dunstan during the Franklin Arts Trail.

Evelyn works in cast crystal glass and shares her beautiful property with six cats, a dog, sheep, and a chorus of peacocks – all in full voice!

You know, we always admire the front of a peacock, but I never realised how striking the back is — those intricate patterns and soft brown tones are just gorgeous. Feeling very inspired for a future artwork… hmmm…
