About the event

Deeply Felt is a group exhibition by Auckland Felters, a collective of contemporary felt makers.


We transform an iconic New Zealand material (wool) into evocative wall art, sculptures and wearable pieces. United by a passion for natural fibres, environmental consciousness and expressive making, our artists draw on the rich heritage of wool in Aotearoa while exploring personal and collective stories through the ancient craft of felting.


Wool is at the heart of this exhibition, it is biodegradable, renewable, and deeply rooted in the cultural and economic fabric of New Zealand. Each piece showcases the incredible versatility of felt: from finely detailed textures and flowing forms to bold sculptural statements. Beyond its material beauty, felt serves as a metaphor for emotion, memory, and connection – what has been deeply felt by the maker is carried in every fibre.
